So Halloween and Thanksgiving are just behind us, and Christmas is right around the corner. I can't believe how quickly time passes when you have little ones. It seems that every day holds new surprises and projects to prepare for. In the midst of all the stress, when I see my girls' little faces light up, I must admit that I do enjoy this time of year. How one strand of lights on a neighbor's house or hearing "The Twelve Days of Christmas" by the "Muffets" ("Hermit" the Frog is Lexi's favorite) for the 150th time in a day, can make a child's week. It is beyond my adult comprehension, but I do enjoy it. I am trying to savor all of these magical moments with my girls because I do realize that they are temporary. I hope everyone else is doing the same, or has done the same.
We spent Thanksgiving in Minnesota with Paul, Gina, and the boys. We had such a great time that it was so hard to leave. I would give anything to be closer to my family. Andy, Jack, and Matt are angels....patient ones, at that. I didn't see my girls for five days because the boys were caring for them- and they wanted to!!! WOW!!! It was W O N D E R F U L!!!! There was even one time when I overheard Jack asking Paul if Lexi could run an errand with them! What?!?!?! I am always trying to pawn the girls off on anyone to get things done, and here the boys were wanting Lexi and Jessi to tag along!!! And, while watching Andy play hockey, Matt and Jack taught Lexi and Jessi how to use vending machines, ask the nearest parent for more money, took them to the drinking fountain a hundred times, and held their hands the whole way. Did I mention how patient these boys are??? I have always thought they were the best kids ever, but after this visit, I know they are!!!! Gina and Paul are so blessed to call these angels their sons, and I feel equally as blessed to call them my nephews. I love them so much. They have the biggest hearts and enormous amounts of patience.
Well, we will be picking up our bundle of Bullmastiff next weekend. Diesel is ready to come home now, but with Brett's work schedule, we will have to wait until next Saturday. Brett and I will be driving to Nebraska to pick him up. Gosh, seems that every time we go to that state, we come back with an animal! Maybe we should stay away from that place? At any rate, we are pretty excited- Brett would never admit it, but he is! I can't tell you how many times he has had me pull up the breeder's website to see new pictures, or how many times he had me research EVERY puppy food made....and read him ALL of the ingredients! And the reason we have researched "every" puppy food ever made is because HE, that would be BRETT, has yet to find one that HE finds suitable. He didn't prepare this much for his own kids!!! If I called him right now, he would let me know how many days/hours/minutes were left until Diesel comes home. It's really disgusting. But again, he would never admit to these things. Oh, but this is "my" Christmas present....that HE, that would be Brett, is taking with HIM (again, BRETT!) to New Mexico!!! Really, I am finding this quite humorous.
OK, enough of the holiday and puppy "mumbo jumbo", I really wanted to update this to see if I actually knew how, and also to get my weekly (daily?) stalker off of my back!!! See, I'm not one to embarrass by naming names, but again, HER initials are H E L E N!!!!!! Dang, woman!!!! I guess the layouts I have been sending aren't enough? Oh well. Love to you anyway.......STALKER!!!! LOL!!!! I promise I will get better at updating this thing! And I will not call it my "blah" anymore! It is a blog, and it is meant to be taken seriously....right? OK. Can you just do it for me? Then you would have it whenever you wanted? Maybe you could even make my life more interesting????
Love to everyone....even you, Helen!!! I hope everyone enjoys their holidays!!!!! YES, that means I will not be updating my "blah" unitl AFTER Christmas......HELEN!!!!!!
